The building covers an area of 187,000 square meters, with a total floor area of about 550,000 square meters. The main building consists of two towers, 52 storeys 234 meters high and 44 storeys 194 meters high, with 10 storeys of skirt buildings, and is joined by large cantilevers of steel structures with 162 meters high and 18,000 tons high and 14 storeys heavy, with a total steel consumption of 140,000 tons. The North supporting building is 159 meters high, the main building is 30 stories, and the skirt building is 5 stories. The whole building is divided into three parts, including the headquarters building (main building) of CCTV on the southwest side, the television culture center (north building) on the northwest side and the energy service center on the Northeast corner.
CCTV headquarters building was selected as the top ten architectural wonders of the world in 2007 by Time, USA, and also won the award of the best high-rise building in the world.
