On the Origin of Lu Jiazui's Name
It is said that because the Huangpu River changed its direction and formed a big turning here. With the passage of time, the sediment accumulated in the Huangpu River formed a beach. From the West Bank of the Huangpu River, it looks like a giant monster opening its mouth and drinking water. And because the famous literati Lu Shen and his wife lived here in Ming Dynasty, the local people called it Lujiazui.
