Emei Mountain is one of the five famous mountains in China, with a thousand years of cultural history. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in China. Among all the scenic spots in Emei Mountain, Jinding(transliteration) is the most famous. It is not only a good place for sightseeing, but also one of the representatives of Chinese Buddhist culture.Emei Jinding is located on the main peak of Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province, China (29.52567 ° n, 103.336802 ° E), where the mountains are high and the clouds are low and the scenery is magnificent. After the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, due to the movement of the crustal plate, the altitude increased about two meters from the original 3077 meters.
Mount Emei Jinding, also known as Huazang temple, was built in the Tang Dynasty. Its roof was covered by tin tiles. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was also known as "silver roof". there is a WoYun nunnery with a dining hall and guest rooms for tourists in temple. In Jinding, you can watch four wonders of Emei: sunrise, sea of clouds, Buddha light and holy lamp(About Buddhism). Jinding is adjacent to Qianfo(transliteration) summit and Wanfo(transliteration) summit. There are also buildings on the top of Wanfo summit, and there are sightseeing Cableways connecting Jinding and the connecting hall.
At the top of Jinding, there is a rare treasure called "Jinding copper hall", which was donated by Lu An in 1602, the thirtieth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty. The hall is 8 meters high, 4.8 meters wide and 4.3 meters deep. It is carved with double eaves and embroidered with brown lock windows. The whole body is welded with copper pieces. The roof eaves tile icornice tiles gilded. Under the sunlight, it is glittering and shining for hundreds of miles. It is named Jinding. The bronze hall has built-in bronze statue of Pu Xian riding elephant, more than 5 meters high, and 24 bronze Buddhas are displayed on both sides. "云栈剑阁 " and "峨眉山道全图" are carved on the door frame, and there are thousands of scriptures and Buddha statues carved on the copper wall around. There are also bronze towers and bronze steles outside the bronze temple. Interestingly, the gate of the temple generally faces to the south, only Emei Mountain faces to the East, Jinding copper hall faces to the west, which is also the unique feature of Emei Mountain. It is said that once upon a time, believers from Tibet only worshiped the Golden Summit, because Sakyamuni's hometown was in the western regions. Unfortunately, the palace burned down in the Qing Dynasty. After the reform and opening up, the Sichuan government of China carried out rehabilitation.
In addition to its historical value and cultural heritage, the Golden Summit of the sunrise is the best place to see the sunrise of Emei Mountain, especially in winter. It often appears together with the sea of clouds. It is extremely magnificent, which is not available in other seasons.
