Tianshan Tianchi Lake
Tianshan Tianchi Lake is characterized by a complete vertical natural landscape belt, snow glaciers and alpine lakes. The surface of Tianshan Tianchi Lake is 1910 meters above sea level, 3.5 kilometers long in North and south, 0.8-1.5 kilometers wide in East and west, and 103 meters deep in the deepest part. Tianchi Tianshan is a famous summer resort and tourist destination with a total area of 548 square kilometers, divided into 8 scenic spots and 38 scenic spots.
Tianchi is a moraine lake. As early as the Paleozoic Era 280 million years ago, it was a vast ocean. Later, due to the frequent activities of the crust, the eruption of submarine volcanoes and the Hualixi orogeny, the bottom of the sea rose into the land, forming the original contour of the Bogda Mountains. After the Mesozoic, the Yanshanian movement made the Bogda Mountains rise again. During the Cenozoic era, the mountain faults rose sharply, forming today's Bogda Mountains, and the lake water retreated to the present Piedmont basin. After the Quaternary Great Glaciation, the climate became warmer and the glaciers gradually disappeared. The Tianchi Lake was formed when the glaciers receded and retreated, and the debris boulders carried by the glaciers gradually stopped and blocked into ridges and lakes.
Tianchi Lake is not only beautiful and magnificent, but also has many rare animals and plants. Among them, the most popular one is the snow lotus called "Alpine Rose". Snow lotus blossoms above the snow line in the mountains, from midsummer to late autumn, even in the midst of snowflakes. Today, Tianchi is a natural heritage of the world, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, China's National Geological Park, China's key national scenic spots.
